State: state.json + SQLite

Studio keeps fast-changing runtime state in a JSON file and durable data in SQLite.

state.json holds live runtime state (in-flight jobs, settings), while SQLite holds durable data (projects, chapters, segments, queue history).

Storage access is consolidating behind a StorageManager so route handlers and tasks don't reach into paths directly. See Storage Layout.
